The Daily Graphic says it is mind boggling to note that a country like Ghana is retrogressing instead of growing. The paper says after 57 years of independence, the country is now naming streets and battling with poor sanitation among others. According to the paper, there is the need for an attitudinal and behaviour change, especially after President Mahama offered a helping hand to cleaning the filth. The Graphic says actions of the president should have been accompanied by sanctions to people who flout the laws. 

The Ghanaian Times calls on government to as a matter of urgency increase the feeding fee for prisoners. The paper says the GH¢ 1.80 per day for a prisoner is woefully inadequate especially in this current economic situation. It appreciates the promise by the Minster of the Interior, Mark Woyongo, to do something about it, but notes that this should not turn out as one of the normal jargons of public officers. It is worried that as a country, Ghana has over the years neglected the less privileged by giving them meager allowances, forgetting that they are also members of the society. The Times appeals to government to intervene and improve the living conditions of such persons.
