State Housing Company Bounces Back With Plans To Start Massive Construction Of Affordable Houses

The State Housing Company has rolled out a programme to provide more housing for workers nationwide. 

Dubbed the Social Housing and Urban Renewal Project, the company will see the construction of High Rise buildings on existing estate lands to house more families. 

The Managing Director of the State Housing Company, Dr Nii Akwei Ankrah, disclosed this in Radio Ghana's Current Affairs Programme, “Focus”. 

He assured occupants of state bungalows that no one will be disadvantaged under the projects. 

The PRO of the Ministry of Water Resources Works and Housing, Abraham Otabil, said 120 out of the 5,000 Housing Units at Prampram have reached various levels of completion. 

He said the Ministry in partnership with Real Estate Developers is working to meet the housing deficit. 

Also on the programme was the Chief Executive Officer of Visa Investment Company, Adri Sylvanus Hopeson. 

He mentioned high cost of utilities and building materials as contributory factors to the high cost of Real Estate Houses.
