Japan Resume Nuclear Plant Electricity Production  

The Japanese government has cleared the way for a nuclear plant to resume production of electricity in Kagoshima Prefecture. 

After the Fukushima disaster in March 2011, the government expressed its condolences and shut down all of Japan's nuclear plants. 

It has now decided to reactivate them. This has become necessary in order to sustain Japanese industrial production and keep energy costs down. 

At present, all of Japan's 48 nuclear power plants are shut down. 

The Catholic Church in Japan however strongly opposes this form of energy.
