President Mahama’s Nominee for Birim Central Municipality Confirmed by Assembly with 100% votes

The President nominee, Kwabena Nkansah Asare, as Chief Executive for Birim Central Municipality was yesterday confirmed by the Assembly members at sitting presided over by Daniel Denjimah Adjei. He polled 100 percent votes cast by the 54 Assembly members. 


Mr. Adjei, said the exercise is in accordance with section 21 of the local government act 462. He noted that, government has embarked on numerous projects in the municipality which include construction of bridge that links Nkwatanum to the Nursing Training College, building structures, among others. The Eastern Regional Minister, Antwi Boasiako Sekyere, expressed his gratitude to the Assembly members for making the programme successful. 

He entreated the members to bury their political differences and rally behind the MCE to bring the necessary development to the area. 

Mr. Sekyere, noted that unity and law abiding plays important role in nation building and urged all and sundry to take a critical look at that to move the nation forward. 

The newly elected MCE, Kwabena Nkansah Asare, expressed his profound gratitude to the president for nominating him and promised to roll out development policies and programmes which will inure the benefit of the assembly and called on the members to give him the full support to realize the dreams. 

The MP for Akim Oda constituency, William Quaitoo Agyapong , commended the new Municipal Chief Executive for his elevation and advised him to bring his expertise to bare to develop the area.
