More than 400 mine workers to lose jobs

Newmont Ghana is to lay off 472 of its workers this month. 

This follows a resolution between Newmont and the Ghana Mine Workers Union. 

The External Affairs and Communications Director of Newmont Ghana, Adiki Ayitevie, who disclosed this to Radio Ghana, said an MOU has been signed between the Company and the Mine Workers Union to that effect. 

She said affected employees will be compensated.
