Stock-taking event to Reflect on New Development Goals Member States of the United Nations are meeting on Thursday and Friday to share their views on the post 2015-development agenda. This stock-taking event is the last one organized by the current President of the General Assembly, John Ashe, who is finishing his one year term next week. Mr Ashe said this event will allow the Secretary-General and his staff to hear what Member States have on their minds and what they would like to see reflected on the post-2015 development agenda. A negotiation phase will soon begin to define new poverty targets that will replace the Millennium Development Goals, which expire at the end of next year. SOURCE: Stephanie Coutrix, United Nations.
