Expert Advocates Recycling Of Plastic Bags To Tackle Sanitation Challenge

In the wake of the Cholera outbreak and the issue of sanitation which is causing health problems for the country, there have been calls for the intensification of recycling of plastics and polythene bags. 

A Civil Engineer, Kofi Ahenkorah, says he support such calls adding that the recycling of plastics and polythene bags will contribute immensely to solving the current sanitation challenge. 

In an interview with Radio Ghana, Mr Ahenkorah said there were attempts to encourage recycling nationwide some years back but the bins that were labelled and placed at vantage points were vandalised. 

He believes this can be brought back but this time public education should be intensified.
