AMA sacks hawkers and squatters around Tema Station

The Chief Executive Officer of the AMA, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, has sacked all the street hawkers and squatters around Tema station leading to the Metro-Mass Transit Bus Terminal in Accra. 

The move was to clear the area of hawkers and squatters. 

According to one of the hawker, Mr Vanderpuije came to the area with a task force and drove them away, cautioning them to stay away. 

Radio Ghana’s correspondent who was at Tema Station this morning reports that the competition for space by pedestrians, motorists and hawkers is of concern.
