Late Bimbila Chief, Naa Dasaana Andani Abdulai, Laid To Rest.

The late Bimbila Chief, Naa Dasaana Andani Abdulai , has been laid to rest. He was buried late in the evening yesterday after government handed his remains to the family in Bimbila.

 A government delegation led by the Deputy Northern Regional Minsietr, Alhaj A.B.A Fuseini, handed the body to the family amidst tight security. 

He commended the family of the late chief for exhibiting a high level of tolerance and not taking the law into their hands. 

He gave the assurance that, the killers of the late chief will be brought to justice and urged residents of Bimbila to live be law abiding. 

The family expressed gratitude to government for the support and pledged to remain calm and allow the rule of law to work. 

The family announced that , the third day funeral rights will be performed on Sunday whilst a regent of the late chief will be enskinned on Friday July 4. 

The Bimbila township looked unusually quiet upon  arrival yet hundreds of residents including some wailing women came out to catch a glimpse of the remains of the late chief. 

Most residents are still in a state of shock. Perhaps the most affected persons in the Bimbila township are shift workers especially health personnel. 

A nurse who spoke to Radio Ghana disclosed that, she spends more hours now on night duty than before the 
conflict.

She explained that, as a result of the 6pm to 6am curfew, she has to get to the hospital earlier and close later than before in order to beat the curfew. 

There is also heavy security presence in Bimbila and surrounding communities. 

Restaurants and chop bar operators have also been affected by the curfew as they have to close earlier than usual. Bimbila is a major transit  town  for people travelling on the Eastern Corridor Road. 

Before the curfew was imposed on the town, it was easy to find transport to Damanko or Yendi after 7pm, but that has changed now, making life difficult for commuters
