Thermal Desorption Plant Commissioned @ Nyankrom In Western Region Steps towards having a more positive environmental impact on Ghana's oil and gas have been given a further boost with the commisssioning of a Multi- dollar Anerobic Thermal Desorption Plant for Zoil Services Limired , an oil and gas management and spill response campany at Nyankrom in the Shama District of the Western Region. Correspondent George Grant Yankson reports that the state of the art plant, the largest in Ghana and the west African Sub- Region apart from Niferia is capable of treating up to eight tonnes of drilling waste per hour and processing waste plastics into valuable fuel products thus helping to reduce the amount of plastic contamination in the environment. In another development a technocrat, Dr. J.D.K. Annan has reminded Stakeholders in the gas and energy sector of the need to ensure that all the necessary international best standards are designed and put into practice before investors come in to pollute the sector. In an interview with Radio Ghana, , Dr. Annan said although meaningful strides have been made in the Gas sector more needs to be done in terms of standards. GBC
