Steps towards having positive environmental impact on Ghana’s oil and gas given further boost Steps towards having a more positive environmental impact on Ghana's oil and gas have been given a further boost with the inauguration of a Multi-dollar Anerobic Thermal Desorption Plant for Zoil Services Limited, an oil and gas management and spill response company at Nyankrom in the Shama District of the Western Region. Radio Ghana’s correspondent George Grant Yankson reports that the state of the plant, the largest in Ghana and West Africa apart from Nigeria is capable of treating up to eight tonnes of drilling waste per hour as well as processing waste plastics into valuable fuel products thus helping to reduce the amount of plastic contamination.
