The Daily Graphic is concerned about the lack of respect for the rules of the land, a situation which has resulted in some level of tension in society. The paper says although foreigners are welcomed to build the economy, their support is only complementary and does not mean Ghanaians should open their doors wide to people prohibited by law from engaging in certain activities in the country. It says regrettably, the country's inability to enforce regulations to prohibit foreigners from engaging in retail trade has compelled the Ghana Union of Traders Association to close down its shops for four days. The paper is therefore calling on regulatory bodies such as the Ghana investment Promotion Centre to enforce the law on business activities in the country to empower local people to take over the commanding heights of the economy. 

The Ghanaians Times welcomes the recent observance of International Day against Abuse of the Elderly as most appropriate. This is because it provide communities worldwide the opportunity to kick against the neglect of older persons, by raising the awareness of the elderly on abuse and neglect in the various cultures. To the paper, it is shameful that here in Ghana majority of the elderly are treated with scorn and disdain by the youth, with the pretext that they have outlived their usefulness. It reminds the youth that the older people are repositories of knowledge, and have immense experiences which could be tapped into for national development. 

The Daily Heritage is worried about how members of the NPP are preparing towards the 2016 elections.  It believes that from the way they are going about things, they are not only preparing to lose the upcoming 2016 elections but also collapse the party. The paper says currently, the image of the party is in tatters and this is shameful since it is coming from the biggest opposition party in the country. The paper therefore calls on people like President John Agyekum Kufuor to intervene to save the situation because Ghana needs a strong opposition party like the NPP to deepen its democratic credentials.
