Africa Growth Forum
Africa Leaders have been challenged to devise strategise to break the vicious cycle that keeps the continent under developed and its population impoverished.

  The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr, Henry Kofi Wampah who made the call at the opening of a two day Africa Growth Forum in Accra said the continent has the potential to grow,  however there is the need to develop the appropriate strategies towards sustainable development.

  Dr. Wampah noted that although attempts to address challenges in Africa have led to huge fiscal deficits, practical ideas are required to lift the continent out of its woes and translate the growth seen over the last decade into jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.

 A Deputy Minister of Finance Cassile Ato Forson for his part said  although Ghana is faced with challenges, government is putting in place measures to address them. 

He mentioned some of the measure as reforms in tax laws in order to general more revenue.  The African Growth Forum is a flagship of the International Growth Centre which seeks to promote sustainable growth in developing countries by providing demand-led policy advice based on frontier research. 

 The forum brought together Governors of Central Banks on the continent, Policy makers, Ministers and other key stakeholders to deliberate on issues bordering on macro-economic management, infrastructure and governance issues among other topics.
