World marks UN Day for Aged The World celebrated UN Day of the Aged on Sunday on a low key perhaps because the day fell on father’s day. The Executive Director of Help Age Ghana, Ebenezer Adjetey-Sorsey tells Radio Ghana what the organization wants civil society to do to avoid the abuse of the aged. He called for education from per-school level on the plight of the aged. In his contribution, the Vice President of Help Age Ghana, Edward Ameyibor, regretted that there is no special welfare package for the aged. He asked all Ghanaians to know that they will one day grow old and therefore must act against elderly abuse. Those in responsible positions must also work well to ensure the security, safety and comfort of the aged. GBC
