This is part of activities aimed at harnessing the services of SHS graduates in the education section at basic levels in deprived areas. An estimated 160,000 senior high school students graduate annually and waits a year before entering tertiary institutions. Volunteer Initiatives seeks to provide these energetic but idle graduates with skills and placements to enable them to contribute to national development. According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Schoolmates investments, Gideon Kwamima Oyiadzo, this initiative will provide the graduates with greater opportunities and reduce their potential involvement in social vices. The first 500 volunteer graduates will meet from the 7th to the 13th of August at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to prepare and equip them for the required skills and knowledge before their attachment.
