The Daily Graphic headlines its editorial "President Akufo Addo, we will hold you to your pledge to protect public purse'.
The paper believes that Ghana can rise like other advanced democracies, if the laws are made to work, so far as the ruling class does not see public service as an opportunity to amass wealth.
The Graphic assures the president that Ghanaians will forever remain grateful to him if he is able to prevent what the paper describes as 'pillage of the public purse', during his tenure.
It said it is no doubt that the bane of Ghana's underdevelopment can be blamed solely on the abuse of public funds.
As President Akuffo -Addo takes office the Daily Graphic said the accolade of the country as the beacon of democracy on the continent should not generate complacency.
What is however, important is for all citizens especially the vulnerable to also enjoy the national cake.
The Ghanaian Times offers a warm welcome to President Akufo Addo and his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as they assume the commanding heights of the country.
The paper commends Ghanaians for the level of unity displayed at the inauguration as all former living presidents were present amid a record crowd attendance.
It says with the inauguration out of the way, it is now time for Ghanaians to work hard to ensure the change the nation voted for is manifested.
